Itinerary

Day 1
  • Day 1: Upon your arrival at Maun International Airport, you will meet a warm-hearted Savanna Delta Safaris representative before transferring you to the charter airplane for your flight over the semi-arid Kalahari Desert. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is so pristine and unspoiled. Your Savanna Delta Safaris nature guide will be waiting for you at the designated airstrip. Surely he will brief you before conducting a short game drive on the way to the nearby lodge. After orientation, you will choose to enjoy your siesta or visit the telescope in the lounge area. It's a rewarding experience to look at the mammals and birds that visit the water hole in this thirstland, through a telescope. Kori bastard(Ardeotis kori), Ostriches(Struthio camelus), and the Southern Black korhaan are a few bird species that inhabit the Kalahari. Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a guided sundowner game drive. The magnificent sunsets above the horizons, and beyond the pans are incredibly beautiful.

Day 2
  • Day 2: After breakfast, you will meet the indigenous people of southern Africa. The bushmen family will take you for a nature walk in the morning. Walking with the indigenous bush experts is so amazing. They have a gentle and considerate conservation approach. There will be an astronomy talk right after dinner. The best time to do star gazing in the Kalahari is during the winter months, especially when the moon is not polluting. Central Kalahari Game reserve is an ideal place for star gazing.

Day 3
  • Day 3-5: After early morning breakfast, we will continue to explore this semi-arid habitat in our 4×4 game viewer and finally reach the piper pan. Here we will spend three days, exploring the natural habitat, so far away from everyone, deep in the Kalahari. Here we will camp in a true wilderness. The black-maned Kalahari Lions, brown Hyenas, black-backed Jackals, Oryx, Cheetahs, and Springboks inhabit this huge game reserve.

Day 6
  • Day 6: You will depart piper pan and experience a game drive on the way to another lodge. Your nature guide will drop you off to enjoy lunch in the lodge. In the afternoon, you will go on a game drive with the local lodge guide.

Day 7
  • Day 7: Early in the morning after breakfast, you will take a short drive to Tau pan airstrip. Here you will board a chartered airplane and fly to Maun. In Maun, we can visit the internet cafe, and the bank, do shopping, play paintball, target shooting or enjoy an optional scenic flight over the Okavango Delta. You will spend the night on an exclusive campsite on the outskirts of this African town.

Day 8
  • Day 8: You will board a chartered airplane and fly to Moremi game reserve. This game reserve is well renowned for its diverse ecosystems which provide spectacular sightings. This game reserve is situated in the southern reaches of the Okavango Delta. Bird life is so abundant in the Okavango Delta. You will spend three nights exploring these diverse ecosystems. The majestic African Elephants, Impalas, Kudu, African wild dogs, Lions, and spotted Hyenas interact and interrelate in this ecological unit. Your Savanna Delta Safaris nature guide will be waiting for you at the airstrip. Your first game drive in Moremi will start at Xakanaka airstrip until you get to a nearby lodge.

Day 9
  • Day 9: After a full breakfast in the morning, you will go on a boat cruise to experience one of the most beautiful parts of the Okavango Delta. Your guide will point out the beauty of the flora and fauna of this wetland ecosystem. In the afternoon you can enjoy another game drive.

Day 10
  • Day 10: On this day, you will take an adventurous morning and afternoon game drive.

Day 11
  • Day 11: After a full breakfast, you can say farewell to your safari staff and drive back to Xakanaka airstrip where you will board a chartered airplane and fly back to Maun airport. In Maun, you can connect to an international flight. For those who want to extend their safari holidays, we are proudly happy to assist you with the arrangements and transfers.
