Itinerary

Day 1
  • DAY 1: VICTORIA FALLS - wonderful place to start an expedition. We will explore this very beautiful place in the afternoon. The activities in Victoria falls include white water rafting on the mighty Zambezi river, elephant riding, bungee jumping, and flight of angels (own expense). We will spend the night at one of the lodges in Victoria Falls.

Day 2
  • DAY 2: CROSSING OVER TO BOTSWANA (Kasane) - A politically stable and less populated country with only 2.4 million inhabitants. There is more land for protected wildlife in Botswana. We have a chance to do shopping, visit the internet café and the bank. An afternoon boat cruise along the Chobe river is available at your own expense. A great opportunity to see the game and birds that congregate along this river in the afternoon. A night will be spent in a designated campsite with permanent ablutions in Kasane.

Day 3
  • DAY 3: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK-SERONDELA - As we drive to Serondela we will conduct a guided game drive to a campsite in Serondela. The Chobe River flows along the northern boundary of the Chobe national park, attracting herds of buffalos and majestic land mammals (African elephants). Early morning and afternoon game drives are so rewarding since many animals and birds come down to this river.

Day 4
  • DAY 4: SAVUTI - Savuti sustains a remarkable density of flora and Fauna. Exploring this natural habitat is so astonishing. Lions, wild dogs, impalas, Zebras, Kudus, Leopards, and different species of birds interact and interrelate in this ecosystem. The roaring of a Lion and the whooping contact call of the spotted hyena is a usual chorus that fills the night.

Day 5
  • Day 5& 6: Arriving in Moremi Game Reserve - The indigenous people of Southern Africa live in a small village situated in the northern part of this game reserve. You will have the opportunity to interact with these local bush experts before we set up camp for the night at a designated campsite. The diverse ecosystems of this reserve provide spectacular wildlife sightings.

Day 7
  • Day 7: Maun Village - A very beautiful village situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River, a distributary (channel) from the Okavango delta. Maun is the tourism capital of Botswana. Here we will get a chance to go shopping, visit the internet café, banks, and the cultural village. Other activities include target shooting, paintball, riding Go-karts, or a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expenses). We will sleep at the campsite on the outskirts of this African Village.

Day 8
  • Day 8 & 9: Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) - This is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. A semi-arid desert. This is a pristine and unspoiled habitat. Springboks, Oryx, Eland, Brown Hyena, the black manned Lions, and honey burgers inhabit the semi-arid desert. This game reserve has incredible sunsets and beautiful landscapes.

Day 10
  • Day 10 Back to Maun - Getting back to Maun in the afternoon will give us a chance to go shopping and do optional activities. We will sleep at the campsite on the outskirts of Maun village.

Day 11
  • Day 11 & 12: Okavango Delta - After a short drive, we will reach the banks of an absolute oasis in the Kalahari basin, the Okavango Delta. Truly this is not a place to miss out. Here we will meet our community guides real experts in poling the traditional dugout canoes (Mokoro). They will take us deep into the heart of this inland delta. This place has amazing herds of Elephants, Red Lechwe, Impala, Leopards, lions, and buffalos. Birdlife is also abundant in the Okavango. Poling through the meandering channels of the Okavango is a breathtaking experience. Sit back and relax as the water gurgles gently under the Mokoro whilst the experienced poler points out the beauty of the Okavango Delta ecosystem. Here we will camp wild. We will explore the island on foot (game walk) and on mokoro excursions.

Day 13
  • Day 13: Departure - In the morning you will enjoy a mokoro excursion back to the riverbanks. Tour ends after Lunch.
